Mandala Theater in Anamnagar is currently staging a musical drama Ko Ek Chha Chha Ek Chha. The drama is directed by musician Roshan Raj Thapa (who performs under the moniker Aadha Sur), and is based on a story by Thapa himself, while the script has been written by Sijan Dahal. Thapa has also written and directed the music for the drama. The musical tells the story of the events that transpire during a short bus ride; and how the events go on to have a psychological effect on the commuters. While on the ride, a young man, who hails from a rural district, happens to come across a beautiful woman.
Enchanted by the woman’s beauty, the plot revolves around him trying to come up with tricks in order to strike a conversation with the woman. Director Thapa is a notable name in Nepali theatre. A graduate of music studies from Lalitkala Campus, Thapa has so far performed live music in plays like Mitjyu, Sirumarani, and has also composed background scores for films like Kabaddi, Dying Candle, and Dhanapati. Ek Chha Chha Ek Chha features actors Nisha Karki, Amrit Dhungana, Rear Rai, Aayan Khadka and Milan Karki, among others. The play is currently being staged at 5:30 every evening and will continue through September 2.
